Damages (with estimates growing) amount to €8.8 billion; there are already 74 active construction sites, amounting to €93 million (of which more than €20 million have already been spent); more than 1,000 landslides in nearly 80 municipalities; the state of emergency affects 7 provinces and more than 100 municipalities; 23 rivers, streams and canals have flooded; several railway lines need to be restored; there 540 square kilometers of flooded land, 600 people sheltered in public facilities because they were left homeless, 70 thousand private buildings damaged by the fury of water. Then there is the issue of lost revenue for businesses, with agricultural businesses in dire straits. These are some of the numbers in the damage assessment of the bad weather that hit Emilia-Romagna last May, which were presented in the Region. It was also taken stock of what the regional government itself has accomplished since the start of the emergency: 30 alert signals since May 1, 141 thousand text messages warning of danger, activation of regional operations rooms, 7 relief coordination centers, 160 municipal operations centers, a 300% increase in calls to 118, nearly 12 thousand interventions, up to 1,100 firefighters and 350 vehicles deployed, more than 13 thousand volunteers, 800 people rescued, and 54 first aid centers.
