The MLB European Development Tournament 2023 is the initiative led by Major League Baseball that brings 90 players from across Europe to compete in an exhibition tournament. The event, which kicked off yesterday in London and will continue through Sunday, allows participants to compete and showcase themselves in four games and subsequently attend training and the first game of the 2023 London Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs, scheduled for June 24. The 90 summoned athletes will be divided into 3 teams of 30 athletes each, regardless of their federation of origin. There is a large Italian presence, with nine youngsters who will try to impress MLB scouts. The chosen talents are: Andres Annunziata (2005 - Nettuno 1945), Lorenzo Barbona (2006 - Nettuno 1945), Edoardo Cornelli (2006 - Lodi), Alessandro Gamberini (2007 - Pianoro), Samuele Gamberini (2003 - UnipolSai Bologna), Alessandro Laise (2005 - Senago), Matteo Marelli (2006 - Senago), Giacomo Taschin (2006 - Rovigo), Lorenzo Taschin (2003 - Rovigo).
