In 2022 in Italy there were 165,889 road crashes (454 per day) with 223,475 injuries (612 per day) and 3,159 victims (9 per day). The most serious situation concerns Rome with 11,798 accidents with 124 deaths (including 35 pedestrians) and 14,590 injuries: an average of three road accidents per hour. This is according to data released on the occasion of the World Day in Remembrance of Victims of Road Violence, established by the United Nations in 1993, which was celebrated yesterday. In Rome, Milan, Naples, Trento, Cagliari, Lecce, Modena, Rovigo and Alexandria, hundreds of activists and associations mobilized at the same time to demand safer roads for people. Other mobilizations will take place on November 22 in Turin and November 24 in Parma.
