The center-right government's constitutional revision has divided Italians. According to a poll conducted by Thermometer Politico, 51.1% support the premiership; nevertheless, 8% oppose the majority bonus. While 5.4% of respondents express disagreement with the prime minister's pre-vote indication, they support the majority premium. 36.2% oppose the entire change, while 5.1% say they are uninterested because choices are now determined by international money. Another suggested modification in the reform is that if the government collapses, the president will be entitled to pick just one other deputy from the winning coalition as prime minister, or the vote will be returned. The plan is supported by 44.4% of respondents, 5% favor it in part, 22.1% disagree and prefer the German model of constructive vote of no-confidence, and 25.6% reject it completely, citing a violation of Parliament's and the Quirinale's prerogatives.
