He took one bicycle after another until he had 56 crammed into his home at the age of almost 80. This is the remarkable finding made by Ferrara police agents who, in recent days, identified and reported an over eighty-year-old man convicted of aggravated stealing and receiving stolen items at the culmination of a long investigation known as "Operazione biga". After receiving multiple reports of bicycle thefts from inhabitants of the Emilian city's historic center, police launched an intensive investigation that included stakeouts and tailings until a possible perpetrator was located. In fact, the subject in issue was frequently spotted riding many different vehicles around the city's streets. The officers then followed the old man for several minutes until they lost sight of him in the city center. So the local police officers went to his house and saw him riding a mountain bike that he had just stolen from a high school kid, who was quickly identified and contacted. The burglar attempted to defend himself by claiming that he purchased the bike for 120 euros. However, the search was launched, allowing for the discovery of 56 vehicles (all in fine condition) hidden in the living room, bathroom, cellar, garage, and attic of the elderly scoundrel's home.
