Alessandra Todde has become the new president of Sardinia, the first female Governor of this region. Todde, a 55-year-old from Nuoro, is a manager and was Deputy Minister for Economic Development in the Draghi Government. Graduated in Information Sciences and later in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, she then passed the state exam to be able to register with the engineers' association. She has lived - as stated on the Five Star Movement website - most of her life between Italy and abroad, working in eight different countries, including the United States, Spain, England, France, and the Netherlands, dealing with technology, energy, and finance before permanently returning to Italy in 2018. She speaks four languages and her turning point came in 2019 when she had the opportunity to run for the European elections: she received 88,206 preferences but was not elected. In the same year, she was named among the Inspiring Fifty Italians, recognition of the 50 Italian women considered most influential in the world of technology.
