Alessandra Todde is the new governor of Sardinia. The proponent of the 5 Star Movement narrowly won the election and led the center-left and the M5S to administer the island with 45.3% of the vote, compared to the center-right candidate Paolo Truzzu's 45%. "I will be the first female president of the island," the winner declared. With civic lists in hand, Renato Soru and Lucia Chessa are both far away in terms of percentage. Turnout was lower: 52.4% of eligible voters voted, compared to 53.09% five years ago. (Photo by camera.it)
