An illness could have been the cause of a catastrophic collision between cars at a motorway toll booth, which killed three people and injured six. The accident occurred on the A12 in Rosignano Marittimo, in the province of Livorno, and caused significant structural damage. Two brothers, ages 3 and 6, are among the six injured who have been carried to the hospital in green code. According to an initial police reconstruction, the accident could have been caused by the illness of the 61-year-old German driving the Honda. The car, coming at great speed on the group of vehicles at the tail end of the A12 barrier, caused a domino effect that destroyed a portion of the toll booth itself.
