The last important "piece" of The Banda della Magliana, the criminal group that dominated the underworld in Rome in the 1970s, was arrested today: Marcello Colafigli, 70, who, despite the regime of semi-liberty, managed - according to investigators - to sell and buy large quantities of drugs from abroad while maintaining relations with the Calabrian 'ndrangheta, the Campania Camorra, and the Foggia mafia. The carabinieri today carried out a massive operation against a criminal group with a logistical base in Rome, led by Colafigli: 28 precautionary measures were implemented (11 people in prison, 16 under house arrest, and an obligation to sign). Colafigli was one of the founding members of the Banda della Magliana, which terrorized Rome and much of Italy for two decades. The Banda della Magliana has also been the subject of successful books, films, and television series; in one of these, titled "Romanzo Criminale," Colafigli earned the title of "Buffalo" due to his criminal background.
