Summer is also coming for the 3,000 religious and nonprofit accommodation facilities in Italy, with 200,000 beds for an alternative vacation based on experiential tourism. Forecast data on July and August, recorded by the Italian Religious Hospitality Association's survey of managers, announce a +4.3% increase in admissions compared to 2023, while foreigners are up 2.6%. In these particular accommodations, the largest increase in presence is recorded in seaside resorts (+10%), followed by cities of art (+5%), places surrounded by nature (+4%), while mountains stop at +2%. The most comforting data for travelers comes from fares, which have increased on average since last summer by only 1.3%, with the mountains even offering the same as in 2023. With this fare policy, one can sense how the needs of many families and groups have been met for this summer as well, forgoing easy money in favor of expanding the guest base. The counter-evidence comes in the cost of accommodations. A double room for two people sleeping and eating breakfast in the high season costs an average of 77 euros per night, without much difference between sea, mountain, city or nature, with an average range between 76 and 79 euros.
