Worry, sadness, anger: these are just some of the emotions most associated by children with anxiety about the future of the planet. 95% percent of girls and boys surveyed say they are worried about the future of the environment, and more than one in 3 (40%) report having a bad dream about climate change or the environment being in danger and struggling to sleep or eat because of this thought. This is what emerges from the results of a recent Italian study, unique on the international scientific scene, created in the context of the educational project of the Scuolattiva non-profit organization called “A Scuola di Acqua” (“A Course in Water”) carried out for nine years in collaboration with the Sanpellegrino Group and dedicated to raising awareness among the youngest on the issues of hydration and environmental sustainability. The research conducted under the scientific supervision of the Laboratory of Health Psychology of the Department of Nervous System and Behavior Sciences of the University of Pavia, and in collaboration with Triple Pact Benefit Society, included the administration of a survey carried out with CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interview) methodology and involved a sample of about 1,000 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
