The Economic, Tax, and Social Security Policies Service of the Uil trade union conducted this analysis in light of the June 17 deadline for paying the advance payment of the second home tax for 2024. The report highlights significant variations in costs between different Italian cities, as well as a "considerable disparity" across the country. In the Northwest, the average annual cost of the Second Home Tax is €1,027, while in the North East it is €1,060. Central Italy costs €1,144, while the South and Islands cost €982 and €829, respectively. These differences reflect the varying real estate values across the country. Rome ranks first among the most expensive cities, with an average annual value of 2,135 euros, followed by Siena (1,937 euros) and Padua (1,770 euros). Catanzaro is the least expensive city, with 509 euros, followed by Messina (519 euros) and Caltanissetta (549 euros).
