Paulo Fonseca has been appointed as AC Milan's technical director. The Portuguese coach has signed a three-year contract with AC Milan. Paulo Fonseca, born on March 5, 1973, in Nampula (Mozambique), began his coaching career in 2005 with Estrela Amadora's youth teams before moving on to the Portuguese lower leagues as a professional. He made his top-flight debut with Paços de Ferreira in 2012, and he went on to play in the Champions League playoffs. In 2013, he joined Porto and won his first trophy as a coach, the Portuguese Super Cup. After a stint with Braga, where he won the Portuguese Cup, he coached Shakhtar Donetsk for three seasons, winning seven trophies and 103 victories in 139 games. In 2019, he made his debut in the Italian league with AS Roma, where he advanced to the Europa League semi-finals in 2021. Fonseca has been the coach of LOSC Lille since the summer of 2022, and he is leaving France after two seasons in which he helped lead the club to as many European qualifiers.
