Giovanni Tam, 21, a basketball player, stopped a thief on Milan's streets and chased him down Corso Genova in slippers. The thief had stolen the bag from his mother's car, but Tam, who grew up in Olimpia and now plays basketball at Amherst College in the United States, did not hesitate to intervene, surprising passersby with his quickness. The story began when Giovanni's mother got out of the car to carry shopping bags into her building's elevator. When she returned, she discovered that the bag had been stolen from his car. Giovanni then decided to pursue the thief, eventually recovering the stolen bag. In an act of clemency, he chose not to report the criminal, giving the thief another chance.
