Half of Italians play sports, even occasionally, and more and more are working out with the support of apps and devices dedicated to fitness and performance monitoring. This is according to the latest survey by UniSalute's Health Observatory, which together with Nomisma institute analyzed Italians' attitudes and habits toward physical activity. The research - which involved a representative sample of 1,200 people across the country - shows that 29% say they practice a sport activity on an ongoing basis, an increase compared to the survey conducted in 2022, when the percentage was only 25%. If we add to these the 21% who say they play sports occasionally, the total number of sportsmen comes to 50%, with men (59%) outnumbering women (41%). On the other hand, the number of inactive people, i.e., those who report a totally sedentary lifestyle, decreases from 21% to 14% of the sample.
