The Pitti Bimbo, which is currently taking place in Florence and features 160 brands, aims to revitalize the Italian junior fashion industry, which was once a global reference point for brands specializing in elegant and "well-made" clothing but is now outclassed by fast fashion chains, big international luxury brands that have expanded their range to include children's lines, and a shift in style towards sportswear, casual, and athleisure. Nonetheless, it has been displaced by the multi-brand store crisis, which is affecting Italy and the rest of the world. Pitti Bimbo combines spring-summer 2025 collections with lifestyle proposals, introducing new brands to the market and repositioning the PittiPets section dedicated to pet accessories. Workshops, social communication meetings, and events for buyers, exhibitors, and the press will also be held to help the industry transition through this period of change. In 2023, the Italian junior fashion industry (clothing, underwear, and accessories for children aged 0 to 14) maintained its turnover (3.2 billion euros, up 0.7%), increasing the value of exports (+4.6%) above 1.5 billion and the weight on revenues, which reached nearly 48%. The trade balance remains negative, at 1.1 billion. The domestic market, which remains the most important, has suffered significantly, losing 3.7%.
