Roberto Baggio and his family experienced moments of pure terror last night while Italy was playing against Spain. According to Corriere del Veneto, the ordeal for the former number 10 and his family began around 10 PM when at least five armed individuals broke into their villa in Altavilla Vicentina. Baggio tried to defend himself but was struck on the head with a gun, causing a deep wound. He and his family were then locked in a room for nearly an hour while the intruders ransacked the villa, stealing watches, jewelry, and money. Once Baggio realized the burglars had left, he broke down the door and called the carabinieri. Along with the testimonies from Baggio and his family, the authorities collected all the surveillance footage. Later, the former Ballon d'Or winner was taken to the hospital for treatment, while his wife and children were left severely shaken but unharmed.
