Half a million euros. This is the price of the first electric Ferrari in history, which is expected to be available by the end of 2025 and will cost at least 500,000 euros, according to Reuters. The model will be built in the new dedicated facility that is about to be built in Maranello, known as e-Building, which was inaugurated in the presence of President Sergio Mattarella. Among other things, the new site has the potential to increase Ferrari's overall production by up to one-third. The cost of the first electric Ferrari, excluding customizations that typically increase the price by another 15-20%, is significantly higher than the average selling price of a Ferrari in the first quarter of 2024, which is 350 thousand euros including extras. However, the price is significantly higher than that of other potential rival electric luxury vehicles: the electric Porsche Taycan, for example, starts around 100,000 euros. Ferrari has declined to comment on the rumours. The Prancing Horse's new Maranello facility is expected to open within the next four months. It is required for the production of those fundamental components for electric vehicles, and it will also support Ferrari's other production lines, particularly for hybrid models, potentially increasing overall production capacity to around 20,000 vehicles per year. It is worth noting that the company led by CEO Benedetto Vigna delivered less than 14 thousand cars worldwide in 2023.
