Charles Leclerc's debut at the microphones following yesterday's Spanish Grand Prix, won by Verstappen, begins with a contentious exchange with his Spanish teammate. "Sainz's overtaking of me at the start of the race was unexpected. The plan was to conserve the tires. I did it at the final corner, he didn't, and he slipped me. There was no reason to take that type of risk. I had minor damage to the front wing, which cost me some time. Carlos was at his last home race with Ferrari and is in a difficult situation for next year: let's say he wanted to put on a show, but it cost me a position. Could there have been a different approach to strategy? Well... once things are done, you can say whatever you want, but ifs and buts won't get you anywhere. We lacked something; now we must thoroughly analyse our race". For his part, Sainz responds bluntly and then proceeds to emphasize the Red's challenge in the lead-up to the subsequent rounds: "We had a new soft at the start, the used Mercedes softs, so we had to attack immediately. Maybe Charles made a mistake and I took advantage of the opportunity; I certainly do not need to be told twice. I came close to attacking the Mercedes. I'm not sure what Charles is complaining about on this occasion; it's not like I can wait to stay behind for the rest of my life".
