AmCham, Italy's American Chamber of Commerce, has new leadership. Stefano Lucchini, Intesa Sanpaolo's chief institutional affairs and external communication officer, was appointed as the new chairman at the shareholders meeting on Monday, June 24. He succeeds lawyer Luca Arnaboldi, who has completed his term at the helm of the non-profit organization affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce of Washington, D.C., a network of 117 American chambers of commerce in 103 countries with over 3-million-member businesses. "Also this year, AmCham Italy has achieved significant goals that allow us to be very satisfied", says Simone Crolla, managing director of AmCham Italy. "More and more, AmCham is proving to be a strategic fulcrum in relations between Italy and the United States, increasing the quality of its membership base, helping Italian companies to face the American market in a conscious way”. In 2023, Italian exports to the United States totaled $72.9 billion, up 5.5% from 2022 and 187% from two decades ago. The United States is Italy's second-largest export market, trailing only Germany and France.
