After two Italian stops, at Villa Caffarelli of the Capitoline Museums in Rome and at the Gallerie d'Italia in Milan, the exhibition "Masterpieces of the Torlonia Collection", by far the most important in the world for ancient sculptures preserved, has moved to Paris at the Louvre. It consists of 62 spectacular statues on display, to be seen until November 11: the unique collection covers the period of the Roman Empire where about seventy emperors took turns, but before the restoration supported by Bulgari was not visible to the public, thus totally unknown. The Torlonia Princes were passionate about beauty, they understood collecting not as something to be shared, but as a personal pleasure. Now the collection is offered for public pleasure.
