In Los Angeles 72 thousand people visited Villaggio Italia, the traveling expo of Italian excellence on a world tour together with the Amerigo Vespucci ship, from July 3 to 8. More than 42 thousand people boarded the historic sailing ship and training ship of the Navy during the period. Thirty events were held in the Italy Village, for 140 hours of shows: from guided tours at exhibitions, to show cooking, from performances by the marching band of the Carabinieri cadet legion and musicians from the La Scala theater academy, to international conferences dedicated to the blue economy and the space economy; to the meeting with the artist Jago, who created, for the world tour of the Vespucci, the bronze work La David. The events also included screenings of Italian films, curated by the Venice International Film Festival. Visitors were also able to admire the display of historical torches from the Olympics and the design exhibition entitled “Italia geniale” (“Brilliant Italy”).
