The Proma Group, a leading Italian company in the design, development and production of automotive components, has acquired Allgaier de Puebla, a Mexican company specializing in the production of structural components supplied to international automakers of primary standing, served through its two plants in Puebla and Aguascalientes. The Italian group was followed in the transaction by Deutsche Bank. Founded in the 1980s and headquartered in San Nicola La Strada, Caserta, Italy, the Proma Group-with a turnover of 900 million euros and 3,800 employees-specializes in the manufacture of seat, body and auto chassis structures and mechanisms and crash systems with 26 production and logistics centers located around the world. The acquisition agreement represents a major strategic investment for the Proma Group. The integration of Allgaier de Puebla with its existing production platform in Mexico will provide industrial benefits in terms of investment and cost synergies as well as increased production capacity in the Central American country, which is essential for growth in the NAFTA region.
