The South Tyrolean High Technology Industries (HTI) Group expands its presence in the United States, with the opening of the region's largest production site in Tooele, Utah, following a $30 million investment. The new plant covers 12 thousand square meters, but the Group's total area is 20 hectares, which can be used for future expansions. The site houses the headquarters and hub of Skytrac, a subsidiary that manufactures fixed cableways. Cable car components are manufactured here, having previously been built at the Leitner Poma of America headquarters in Colorado. In addition, the Tooele plant will serve as a distribution and service center for Prinoth (snow groomers and tracked vehicles) and Demaclenko, which manufactures snowmaking systems. North America accounts for 30% of the Group's revenue, or more than $400 million, and this year marked a record season for the ski industry.
