A 43-year-old French tourist was attacked by a bear while out walking in Naroncolo, Municipality of Dro (Trento), Trentino. Following his rescue, the man was transported to the hospital with limb injuries. The forestry department is conducting investigations and surveys to determine the plantigrade. The attack, explained the mayor of the Municipality of Dro Claudio Mimiola, took place "in a wooded area, at the end of an equipped road, in any case a few kilometers from the town". According to what has emerged, the tourist went for a morning run. The attack comes just days after a close encounter between a Swiss tourist and three children with a female bear and at least one cub. The incident occurred on July 10, while the family was walking along the south-western shore of Lake Molveno.
