The split between Juventus and star striker Federico Chiesa now appears unavoidable. For supporters it is a minor setback. So far, in four seasons, the striker has scored 32 goals and appeared in 131 games (91 as a starter); Juve spent approximately 90 million euros on his purchase and salaries (gross). Currently, one of the most talented Italian footballers is at risk of spending an entire season on the sidelines, alternating between the stands and training sessions, as he awaits the expiration of his contract in June 2025. Thiago Motta, the new coach, stated as openly as possible: "Chiesa, like others, is not with us for market reasons. We were straight inside, speaking to all of the boys. The club is currently seeking for solutions; they must find them as soon as possible, for the sake of everyone. The exclusion is the result of previously determined judgments". Chiesa is not deemed "suitable or adaptable" to the tactical concept intended for the new team, a decision that may be contested but shared by those who direct the "music" and those who pay for the "orchestra".
