Approximately twenty laps, one after the other, separated by a few tenths at most, and frequently quite close. Then comes the showdown in the last stage. Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini are competing for the 25 points available at Misano for the Pramac Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna, having engaged in a battle that lasted almost half an hour and was concluded in a matter of seconds with an aggressive and intense maneuver. It all came down to turn 4, when the Ducati Lenovo Team ace slipped inside his rival during a hard braking move, pushing the bike to the limit, with it slightly out of control. The Spaniard, riding the Prima Pramac Racing GP24, tried to hold his ground on the outside but was forced to go wide and then off the track due to the attack from the rider from Rimini. He forfeited a significant amount of time and the opportunity to replicate, but he was able to secure a second place ahead of Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP),™ helped from the accidents of those in front of him: Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3). But, most importantly, considering the world championship scenario, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team). The reigning world champion, second in the overall standings, crashed on the twenty-first of the 27 laps scheduled while attempting to close a gap built up in the first half of the race, when he fell more than three seconds behind leaders Martin and Bastianini despite an effective start from pole position. On the fifteenth lap, the number one driver activated the turbo, setting the fastest time of the race and dropping it even more the next lap. Would he be able to gain ground on the dominant duo? Who knows. The fall dashed his dreams. As for Bastianini, he has never finished worse than third place in Misano since he began racing in MotoGP. He gives Ducati its hundredth victory in the premier class on the same day that Borgo Panigale mathematically claims the constructors' title. In the title race, Martin extends his lead over Bagnaia to 24 points. Bastianini passes Marquez and climbs up to third place. There is just a point in dividing the two. The next appointment in Indonesia is in a week.
