During the exhumations in the cemeteries of the Province of Ancona, employees of a contractor company for cemetery services extracted the gold dental prostheses from the bodies and resold them to a Cash for Gold. This company functions in various municipalities in the province. The facts came to light as part of an investigation by the carabinieri of the Jesi company's operational and mobile radio unit, which was supervised by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Ancona and began in 2023. The preliminary investigations' conclusion notice was distributed to five individuals between the ages of 30 and 50: four employees of a cemetery services contractor and one employee of a funerary home.
