A China-bound Hainan Airlines flight that took off from Fiumicino airport was forced to make an emergency landing minutes after takeoff due to a fire in one of the engines. Firefighters at Leonardo Da Vinci Airport immediately activated safety procedures, and the plane followed the prescribed protocol, dumping all its fuel before landing. It appears that the engine was damaged by bird remains, which, due to the high temperatures, would have caught fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
