Between 2019 and 2023, Made in Italy sales in the world grew by 30.4%. This is according to ICE's latest annual report, according to which last year Italian exports stood at 626 billion euros. This is essentially the same value as in 2022. A figure that is worth sixth place globally among exporting countries, up from seventh in 2022, overtaking South Korea. Driving the recovery in the last year were mainly the southern regions. The most significant Italian export flows concern the metal-mechanics sector, which alone records about 22 billion euros; followed by the fashion system, means of transport, food and beverages, chemicals, rubber and plastics, and electrical engineering. Imports, on the other hand, see means of transport in first place, followed at a distance by electrical engineering, metal chain, fashion system, food and beverages, mechanics, rubber and plastic, electronics, agricultural products and chemicals.
