New problems for the Strait Bridge project. The Strait of Messina Spa Company's final project dossier would be missing the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology's (Ingv) seismic risk certificate. The INGV, through its president Carlo Doglioni, has denied any involvement in the drafting of the report submitted to the Ministry of the Environment. The documentation sent to the Ministry's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) commission references a seismic risk evaluation conducted by the Sapienza University's Department of Earth Sciences and INGV, specifically concerning active faults in the area of the bridge. However, Doglioni clarified in two letters addressed to Green-Left Alliance deputy Angelo Bonelli that the institute was not officially involved and that the two researchers cited in the project contributed in a personal capacity.
