The Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2024 (GRAS) ranking, which was compiled by the independent organization Consultancy, was published yesterday. The Asian ranking serves as confirmation of Sapienza's status as one of the most excellent universities in Italy and the globe. In particular, the University is ranked among the top 50 universities in the world in four disciplines: Physics (12th), Aerospace Engineering (20th), Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical (31st), and Automation & Control (47th). Sapienza University has set five Italian records, four of which are absolute, in Physics (12th), Telecommunication Engineering (76-100), Ecology (101-150), Psychology (101-150), and Human Biological Sciences (101-150), alongside Milan and Padua. GRAS Shanghai categorizes universities into 55 subjects, including natural sciences, engineering, biological sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences. Gras ranks more than 1,900 out of 5,000 colleges in 96 countries. The criteria are based on objective academic indicators such as research outcomes (Q1), research impact (CNCI), international collaboration (IC), research quality (Top), and international academic prizes (Award). On August 15, the same Shanghai Ranking Consultancy organization announced the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) for 2024.
