Yesterday was dubbed as "Super Tuesday": in fact, all six vice presidents-designate of the European Commission faced parliamentary hearings. The first to submit to questions from MEPs was Raffaele Fitto, Italian candidate for Executive Vice-President, whose examination began at 9 a.m. in the Europarliament building in Brussels. "I am not here to represent a political party or a member state, but because of my commitment to Europe," Fitto said at the opening of the hearing. However, the coordinators of the Euro Chamber's Regional Affairs Committee decided to postpone the evaluation of his hearing "until a date to be determined". The assessment of Kaja Kallas' hearing, which will follow Fitto's, has also been postponed, as reported on X by the European Parliament spokeswoman Delphine Colard. Next, it will be the turn of Roxana Minzatu, Stephane Sejourné, Henna Virkkunen, and Teresa Ribera. In recent days, the evaluations of the coordinators of the relevant committees were made after each individual hearing. Now, however, there is speculation of freezing and unifying the voting on the six candidates, postponing the judging to a single date. (Phot by European Commission)
