During the first half of the year, insurance companies operating in Italy received 62,330 complaints, representing an 18.9% rise over the same period last year. Complaints increased for both Italian and international enterprises (+20.5% and 12.1%, respectively). Car insurance complaints increased by 18.7%, totaling 27,519. The "Other non-life" insurance sector experienced the highest rise, with a 23.7% increase compared to the first half of 2023. This spike primarily affected domestic companies, often linked to the exceptional weather events of 2023. Meanwhile, complaints regarding "Life" insurance saw a more modest increase (+8.2% compared to the same period of the previous year). Companies' average response time to complainants was 22 days, which was less than the 45-day regulatory limit. The outcome of the complaints was 33% upheld, 8% closed for transaction, and 59% refused.
