Carabinieri in Naples have arrested three people accused of being responsible for the robbery of Brazilian soccer player Neres on September 1. As the player was returning to his hotel after a match at Maradona Stadium, a watch worth more than 100,000 euros was taken from him. The three arrestees are believed to be seriously suspected of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery: they allegedly reached the minivan in which Neres was traveling and, while the soccer player was stopped in traffic, shattered the rear window glass and, at gunpoint, had the watch handed over before fleeing. Carabinieri investigations indicate that the criminal action was premeditated. The three arrested, all from Fuorigrotta's Lauro district, were identified through surveillance camera footage and wiretaps made as part of an anti Camorra investigation into the Iadonisi clan.
