"Italy is doing and will continue to do everything possible to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population in Gaza. Once again, Defense has demonstrated professionalism, responsiveness and great humanity". This was stated by Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, who authorized the special flight, an Air Force C-130J, that departed from Pisa Airport on Saturday to transport to Larnaca, Cyprus, more than 15 tons of humanitarian aid collected by the National Confederation of Italian Misericordie, destined for the Palestinian population in Gaza. This operation adds to a series of initiatives already undertaken to transport humanitarian aid and basic necessities with Air Force aircraft, in addition to the deployment of Navy Ship "Vulcan". During 2024, transfers of Palestinian children to receive treatment in Italian children's hospitals were also carried out, using Defense air and sea assets.
