155 sellers from every Italian region, 74 buyers from all over the world, 12 exhibitors, including organizations and businesses, and 13 Italian regions with their own exhibits and offerings. Indicators of the potential that the upcoming third edition of Roots-in, the International Tourism Exchange of the Origins, set to take place in Matera on November 18th and 19th, provide a glimpse of what this event has in store for everyone engaged in roots tourism. "I care deeply about this successful event, which offers an exceptional stage to our small municipalities and villages, custodians of a historical, cultural, culinary, and environmental heritage of inestimable value", said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in a message sent to the Exchange. “Roots-In has now become a traditional presence to meet, discuss and Roots Tourism and Italea,” stated Luigi Maria Vignali, Director General for Italians Abroad at the Foreign Ministry, during an early assessment of the NRRP Project dedicated to Roots Tourism. Italea has established a large and vibrant network on the territory, with 20 regional groups and 16 coordinators; there have been over 4,000 requests for travel or genealogy research, 650 Italea Card partners, and over 1 million visits to the Italea platform. Again, 833 Roots Municipalities and 742 events have already been organized. The regional Italee staged over 60 awareness-raising events in Italy to foster collaboration and discussion, as well as 19 missions overseas in 13 countries with an estimated involvement of over 1.5 million people.
