Gaetano Manfredi, the mayor of Naples, has been named the next national president of ANCI. This was declared today during the XX Congress of the Association of Italian Municipalities, which opened the 41st annual assembly at Lingotto Fiere in Turin. The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, congratulated the new ANCI president: "Congratulations and best wishes for excellent work to the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, unanimously elected today President of ANCI. We are a nation of bell towers, villages, and identities, and the Government considers collaboration with municipalities and mayors, who are the front line of political engagement and the closest face of the State, to be central. We will continue to strive in this direction, as we have in the past, to provide citizens with concrete answers and to construct a more united, strong, and cohesive nation", she declared.
