With 142 caps for Italy and a record of 94 appearances as captain, Sergio Parisse, an iconic figure in Italian rugby, has become the first Italian to be inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame. The International Federation has decided to award him alongside four additional individuals - two male and two female athletes - who have made a lasting mark on the sport's history and development. After retiring from rugby in the summer of 2023, Parisse began a coaching career with Toulon RC, the club where he ended his playing days. The official induction into the Hall of Fame will take place on November 24 in Monte Carlo, during the World Rugby Awards. A recognition that cements the former Italian captain’s status among the legends of the sport.
