The assembly of members of the 5 Star Movement approved important statutory changes, including the raising of the limit to three terms and the possibility of exemptions for candidates for mayor or regional president. With 63% of the vote, it was also sanctioned the abolition of the role of the guarantor - hitherto "embodied" by the Movement's founder, showman Beppe Grillo - whose functions will be entrusted to an elected collegial body (39%), overriding the idea of assigning them to the Guarantee Committee (37%). Finally, it was decided that M5S political alliances should be based on clear programmatic agreements, marking a new direction for the movement.
