Avio has signed two new contracts in the United States to develop missile engines: one with Raytheon, a branch of the RTX group that provides defense solutions to the American government, and the other through direct collaboration with the United States army. “The agreement with Raytheon", revealed Giulio Ranzo, CEO of the Italian company, “positions us as a secondary supplier for the development and supply of a missile engine vital for national security in the U.S. and allied countries". Avio USA and Acmi Properties, a real estate development firm, will collaborate on the design of the new structure. "The initiative prepares the door for Avio's involvement in the US market to meet the rapidly growing demand for solid propellant engines in the aerospace and defense sectors. The complex will house a variety of industrial operations with applications in defense, space exploration, and commercial aircraft". The parties are investigating different plant locations; the decision should be made by June 2025. It is predicted that Raytheon and the US Army's supply would be completely operational within three years.
