Altroconsumo conducted a survey - to draw up a ranking of Italian cities - on the expense of a lunch or dinner in a pizzeria, analyzing the price of the best-selling pizza in the commercial establishment considered, that of the most consumed drink in that pizzeria, the cover charge and the service (if applicable), using the data that Istat provides to the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy. The survey shows that the city where on average people spend the most to eat a pizza in a pizzeria is Sassari, with an average cost for pizza, drink, cover charge and service of 14.11 euros. Above 13 euros on average there are also cities such as Bolzano (13.90 euros), Milan (13.50 euros) and Venice (13.47 euros), already at the top of the ranking of the most expensive pizza and drink last year. Obviously we are talking about an average cost, because there are cities, especially those in the North (for example Milan) or those with a more tourist vocation (such as Venice), where you can spend up to 24 euros (this is the case in Venice) for a meal in a pizzeria; likewise, in the same cities you can easily come across decidedly cheaper pizzerias. And in fact, Venice and Milan are precisely the two cities where there is the greatest difference between the minimum and maximum expense for a meal in a pizzeria: in Venice, depending on the place chosen, you can spend from 10.50 to 24 euros, while in Milan from around 8 to 19.50 euros. There is also a lot of difference in cost in Trento where you can spend from 8.70 to 18.80 euros; on the other hand, the differences in costs in cities such as Perugia and Pescara are smaller: in these cities the difference in expenditure is only 2 euros. The cheapest city on average is Livorno with an average expense of 8.67 euros. Among the cities where you spend on average less than 10 euros for a pizza and a drink, we find 4 cities in the South, including the one of pizza par excellence, Naples.
