Lombardy, with 459.7 billion euros in private savings, or 22% of the national total, has been reaffirmed as Italy's richest region, followed by Lazio, with 340.8 billion, or 16.3%. These two regions alone account for about 40% of national savings, emphasizing their economic and financial importance. This is the conclusion of a Unimpresa Study Center report, which confirms Italy as a country where private savings play a critical role, with bank deposits and postal savings totaling 2,094 billion euros. The biggest component is families, which retain 1,137 billion, or 54.3% of the national total, demonstrating how personal savings form the backbone of the Italian financial system. Companies contribute 450.6 billion, or 21.5%, while family companies, at 90 billion, account for only 4.3%.
