Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, has tendered his resignation to the Board of Directors, chaired by John Elkann, who accepted it. The news was confirmed by the group through an official note. In order to ensure management continuity, the process to select a new permanent CEO has been initiated, entrusted to a Special Committee of the Board of Directors. The selection of the successor is expected to be completed by the first half of 2025. In the meantime, a new Executive Committee, under the direct leadership of John Elkann, will be established to manage the group's strategic and operational activities. Tavares' decision marks a time of transition for Stellantis, which faces significant challenges in the global automotive industry, including technological innovation, energy transition and changing markets.
