In Italy, 650 thousand families are waiting for public housing, while one-third of those living in rented homes spend 40% of their income on them. This is revealed in the latest report by ANCE (National Association of Building Contractors), based on ISTAT data. The report also shows that more than 21 million people reside in metropolitan cities and more than two million families want to change homes, underscoring the growing difficulties related to housing rights in the country.
