Police have arrested 12 alleged members of the "Werwolf Division", a supremacist and neo-Nazi group accused of planning serious attacks, including attacks against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and a World Economic Forum economist. Charges include association for the purpose of terrorism, incitement to racial, ethnic and religious hatred, and illegal possession of firearms. The suspects allegedly spread propaganda, promoted proselytizing, and planned violent actions, including purging "traitors" from their movement. According to investigators, the group constituted an "organized cell in operation", capable of acting as "lone wolves" modeled after supremacist or jihadist groups. In addition to the 12 arrests, searches were conducted against 25 other suspects throughout Italy. The investigations, conducted by the DDA of Bologna and Naples together with the National Anti-Mafia and Counterterrorism Directorate, are coordinated by the Central Directorate of Prevention Police.
