After a 2-year renovation and a 20-million-euro investment, the new headquarters of the Costume & Fashion Academy was inaugurated in Rome's Piazza Vittorio. The building, known to Romans as the site of the Mas popular warehouses, has undergone a thorough redevelopment. It will now house a 6,000-square-meter campus spread over six floors. The Umbertina part (ground floor and basement), dating back to the late 1800s, has been restored while maintaining the original style of the period of construction, favoring materials and design that evoke that historical era. The new Costume & Fashion Academy will have fully digitized classrooms for Fashion, Accessories, Costume, Tailoring, Prototyping and Modeling, Photography and Styling workshops. 250 square meters of terraces and the rooftop will be able to be used as recreational, sharing and learning spaces. Threads, dress sketches, sewing machines, irons, mannequins, scissors are ready to animate these spaces and train a new generation of costume designers, tailors, and designers.
