The Chamber has finally approved the Tax Decree Law with 151 votes in favor, 111 against and 4 abstentions. Among the main measures, the decree provides funds for the RFI program, Universal Civil Service, and refinancing the social security for 2024. In addition, 4 million euros are provided for the Rome Jubilee. In the Senate, the text underwent numerous amendments, effectively turning into an omnibus decree. Among these were the postponement to January of the second tax installment for VAT payers under 170,000 euros, with possible installment payments, and the increase in the endowment for parties resulting from the 2x1000, which now approaches 30 million euros. The original decree also included refinancing of infrastructure, overtime for the police, and measures for the Concordat, but significant changes emerged in the Senate, such as the introduction of installment payments on the November advance for VAT numbers and the increase in the 2x1000 endowment. However, the proposal to reduce the RAI licence fee from 90 to 70 euros, supported by the Lega party, and the passing of the 5x1000 cap for non-profit organizations was rejected. In addition, the Senate approved an increase of 343 million euros for the State Highway capital endowment and 3.7 million euros to compensate businesses damaged by blue crab in 2024.
