The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry has officially recognized the Consortium for the Protection of Modica Chocolate IGP, which brings together artisan companies producing one of the most representative products of Italian confectionery excellence, the first IGP chocolate in Europe, as a symbol of tradition and innovation. Modica Chocolate IGP's reputation on the national and worldwide markets is enhanced, and its manufacturing chain is even more effectively protected, which helps to improve the territory and assist small local businesses. With the ministerial recognition, the number of protection consortia in the Italian agri-food sector has increased to 183, demonstrating the government's commitment to improving its food and wine excellence. The Modica I.G.P. Chocolate Consortium exemplifies history and modernity, promoting a distinctive heritage and creating new chances for economic development.
