Lando Norris capped the 2024 F1 World Championship in style by winning the Abu Dhabi GP, sealing his fourth win of the season and giving McLaren a constructors' title that had been missing since 1998. Despite an extraordinary performance, Ferrari had to settle for second and third place: Carlos Sainz finished 2nd, while Charles Leclerc impressed with a comeback from 19th place on the grid to the podium. The Maranello stable recovered only 7 points over McLaren, which started with a 21-length lead, leaving the title to its British rivals. The race, seemingly already marked after McLaren's one-two in qualifying, held surprises from the start: an incident between Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri forced the Australian to serve a penalty, relegating him to 10th place. Norris, however, maintained control, fending off Sainz's undercut attempt and managing the pressure to perfection until the checkered flag. Despite the disappointment of the faded title, Ferrari can look to the future with optimism: the double podium in Abu Dhabi, with a consistent Sainz and a Leclerc author of a spectacular comeback, is an excellent starting point for 2025.
